Yazmin Valdes, LMT
Massage Therapist
As student of art for most of her life, Yazmin finds the seeds of her personal growth through the exploration of visual arts, music, and philosophy. After graduating with a degree in Studio Fine Arts in the year 2000, and continuing her education in the visual and healing arts, Yazmin has learned that we are all creatures of beauty, each of whom carries extraordinary gifts to share with the world.
Seeking to link the science and art of bodywork, she incorporates what she's learned in her years of visual arts training with her bodywork training and intuition. Yazmin creates a thorough approach to bodywork where healing takes place first on the physical level of the body, and is then carried out to the emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.
Yazmin graduated from Educating Hands School of Massage in 2009, where she received formal massage and hydrotherapy training, and gained certification in Ancient Wisdom Massage. AWM is a holistic modality of bodywork, founded by Daniela Urrutia, that sources healing from the mother earth using an established spiritual connection between the therapist and the patient as the basis for healing throughout the session.
Yazmin also possesses a well-rounded technique deeply influenced by ancient Chinese healing, Tui Na, pressure point therapy, myofascial release, and assistive stretching modalities. The primary intention of her bodywork is to assist in clearing the patient of energetic blockages that create disharmony and pain throughout the body.
